Planner. The City of Central is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Planner. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Historic Preservation or a related field and two (2) years of experience working in the public sector within the areas of Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Historic Preservation or related field. Under the general supervision of the Planning Services Director, the Planner will provide professional support for current planning projects and review of land use applications. This role requires working independently and as part of a team to address planning issues that will involve research, analysis, plan review, and communications with a variety of stakeholders including elected and appointed officials, the public and private sector leaders, and where applicable local and regional governments. The position’s primary place of work is in City Hall and will require regular attendance at the Historic Preservation Commission, Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustments, and/or City Council meetings.
